GMA's Last SONA

I thought GMA would finally stand before the joint Congress, declare she's had enough of all the ruckus, dramatically dust her hands in the air and walk off into the setting sun. Can you imagine how you would feel if everything you do at work is trashed and everything that happens wrong is blamed on you? Gosh, that would be like hell and I don't think any amount of money would compensate for that. I do sympathize with the poor woman because I don't think the home she goes to provides her with sanctuary.

I found the latter part of her SONA amusing. She finally "answered" some of the nasties going on about her. Subtle, humorous but unquestionable.

"I never expressed the desire to extend myself beyond my term. Many of those who accuse me of it tried to cling like nails to their posts."

I added 1 + 1... calculated and understood it as a declaration that she will not run in 2010.

Do we need to analyze each word in order to deduce it as such? Yet a lot of people speak of how she failed to say that she is not going to stay on as president beyond 2010. Apparently, they were looking for an exact syntax. I think those who keep on yacking away about this issue are trying to keep it alive for fear of disappearing into anonymity. They seem like they are desperately fanning the dying embers of the hope to skyrocket into political fame.
