Ari

ARI is a variation of ITO which is this or these in Tagalog and used in certain regions. They are using it in a couple of TV commercials.

"Ang daming labada!
Ari lang kailangan.
Isang sachet? Kaya ba iyan?
Isa lang, tama na ito"

Ari and then ito? Doesn't that sound fake to you? As far as I know, when you use ari to mean ito, you never use ito to mean ari.

"Puro bakas ni Potpot. Nasaan ba si Potpot?
Ari si Potpot! Ari si Potpot!"

Huh? Isn't that bewildering? A bunch of kids jumping together yelling "ari si Potpot!"? It is bewildering, believe me.

"Ari" is the Ilonggo term for "ito."
