Jejemon

Definition - Latin or Spanish version of "hehe" which is an expression of amusement. It also means writing text messages in shorthand. 3 for the letter E, 4 for the letter A, 13 is B, etc. It also means putting u after a Tagalog verb when pertaining to an action that someone did.

It's a habit that I told Kayla to never ever develop when I gave her her first cellphone when she was 5 years old. Write text messages properly or no cellphone forever. Thankfully, she obeyed although she does use some shortcuts now that she's a bit older. Jejemon is a habit that affects communication skills and it can seriously damage a person's spelling instincts. Kayla takes pride in her language so Jejemon isn't exactly favored. It's a total turn off... the level of which surpasses bad breath and body odor combined.

Kayla met this cute young man at an activity this weekend. I found this young man cute and respectful and seemingly socially responsible so I didn't object when he asked for her number. Alas, he texts in Jejemon.

The trouble with EhiOow pFhoUwh... is gHoOdBvhAiyhXzS!
