The sizzling hot month of May is rainy and cool this year. Last night, as I huddled to my husband, I remarked that it was the first time I felt cold in May in my life.
I wonder if this means the rainy season will be over sooner than before? I hope so because I got a trip to Boracay in November when CP went on sale last month. The round trip tickets cost me P1,000 per person! If there's a storm around then it won't be too much of a loss.
School is going to start next week and I have been very busy preparing for it. I flit between Lexulous, Mafia Wars and Kayla stuff... oh, and the dog stuff, too, of course! My two boys are getting bigger by the day. Mojee is able to go up and down the stairs now. He tumbled down the first time he attempted to climb down. I panicked and rushed to pick him up! He struggled free as if to say "I'm ok, Mom, I'm ok. Let me go, I wanna do it again!" Bawzer patiently waits for everyone downstairs. I checked on him one night and saw him huddled in one corner. He had trapped TWO cockroaches in that corner! They were still whole but barely alive. I wonder how he did it afterall, he's too fat and slow to actually do anything that required speed.
Tomorrow is Monday! Busy, busy day! Mafia Wars... Lexulous... Mafia Wars... Lexulous...

Mafia Wars

Time-consuming, nonsensical activities that take up all my time. Gadratz.
I am wasting away. If it weren't for my husband who calls my attention to worldly matters, I would be like that cartoon that is mesmerized by the computer. It's just as bad as drugs! It keeps me from important things like... errrr... life!

And Then There Were Two

I'm not selling my two boys anymore. It's too hard on me. I wept like an idiot last night and Jon was distressed. My tears alarm my family as they are scarce. I am really having Cukay spayed before she ovulates again or I'll have yaya keep her in knickers if I don't get around to it in time. No more parting with my babies. The next one will be Kayla... in maybe 15 years or so.

Tigre's Last Day

He's the brave one who can hop up the first few steps of the stairs (Well, Mojee can, too. Bawzer is the one who can't haul up his fat butt!) and struggles free no matter where he is. But eventhough he's a macho pup, he likes being babied. He likes eating out of my hand and he loves it when I brush his hair.

My Beloved Boss

I don't know how he thinks a meeting runs but by golly, you can bet that when he calls a meeting that means he will be talking 98% of the time. Monday morning is the weekly staff meeting that lasts for two hours and he talks for 118 minutes! When he meets with vendors or investors he does the same thing. I don't know how the people in the conference room stay awake. Yak yak yak... yak yak yak... yak yak yak...
Another problem with him is he's the expert in everything or at least he believes he is so when he is corrected, he hands out yellow cards. Duh? WTF???
Obviously, everyone in our office loves him.

Catalogue Shopping

I bought a simple black top from my officemate a few months ago and when I wore it, I stood beside another woman wearing the exact same top at the lobby while waiting for my car. Geez! Off that top went to the back of my closet.

That does it. No more catalogue shopping for tops. But I'll still buy Reese's lipsticks.

BT, Ipod... Headsets
Do you ever notice people who wear bluetooth headsets while smoking or just standing around? Or people who use it while pacing with their arms folded across their chest? Don't you think they look idiotic? Afterall, they were made so that your hands are free to do what they're busy with while taking a call so what's the point in using them when your hands ARE free?
Or have you ever seen a guy who bops to the beat of the music playing on his ipod headset? Bopping as if he's making a music video and everyone will join his dance during the chorus.
Have you walked down the street near someone with blaring headsets? I don't get how they can do that. It seems so dangerous to me because you'll not hear if someone is running in your direction or some danger is coming from behind you! Now if you were in the safe place, then it's not a problem to bust your eardrums. I remember I used to play music loudly in the car until one evening when I crossed the railroad track just before the stop light. I was grooving to the beat of my music when I glanced at my rear view mirror and what did I see? The train whizzing by! OMG! I don't think I would have heard it if it tooted its toot!

CSI: Las Vegas

I also miss Sara and Warrick.
CSI is not the same without them but it's still one of my favorite shows.

BICYCLE! BICYCLE! I Want to Ride My Bicycle!
Jon said he'll have a concert-type karaoke set up done in the sala for my entertainment. The kind that neighbors complain about. Booming. So I said, ok, let's go buy what you need.
We ended up in Cartimar and got a pair of mountain bikes instead. Red for me and blue for him. This is to further our quest for health and longevity. The last time I rode a bike was when I was in grade school. I have a big scar on my left knee from that time I lost control of the bike. I was riding with Oel, my dear childhood friend who passed away from cancer last year. I wasn't sure if I could ride the bike but just as they say, once you know how to ride one, you'll always know how. Jon and I cheerfully sped off to explore our neighborhood. Oh, what fun! The wind in my face was so refreshing.

There's this beautiful part to the west that is so cool from the shade of the big trees that lined the street. It was as if we left the city. I loved it. I whistled as we rode around 10 blocks. Biking is such a breeze. Jon got tired and dozed off when we got home.

Yumee and the Boys

The boys are growing fast. They seem to thunder towards me when I get home. They stepped out of the house for the first time today. Too bad I was unable to video it. They were so curious but wary of the outside world. They sniffed at the edge of the door for many minutes before testing the ground with their little paws. They kinda quivered when they put their front paws firmly on the ground. My, oh, my! This part of the world feels different! Wow! What are these things all around us? It was a heartwarming sight.

My babies will soon be brutes!

To Celebrate or Not

I have never celebrated my birthday. I always slept through the day. It crossed my mind a few months ago that I should celebrate this particular year but I imagined all the preparations needed to roll-out the project so I decided not to.
Today, as I near the end of my 40th birthday, I feel I made the wrong decision. I should have had a grand bash with all my dear friends in attendance. A day of merry-making. Oh well, what's done is done. Or should I say, what is not done is not done.
Go, Shorty! It's Your Birthday!

Today is my joining date. Woohoo! I heard I am now free to do ABSOLUTELY anything I want to do and be whatever I want to be! So what's new there? That's my birthright, isn't it? lol
I remember hearing someone say that age can be seen on one's hands. I look at mine and they are as veined and mangled as ever. The same as when I was 21. Oh, no they're not. They look nicer because now I do not have that callous on my right middle finger that was from writing. Kayla doesn't have that writer's callous and I guess that goes for the rest of their computer generation. Ah, what a sweet life they have.
Now back to the business of being 40. I suppose I can wake up screaming at everyone in the pretense of menopause. I can throw tantrums to make my husband give me what I want. I can be lazy all the time.

My First Baked Dish

Yeah, yeah. It's a simple dish. So simple a child can make it. No big deal.
I hate cooking. I don't have the patience to wait for something to be done. I can't stand the heat in the kitchen. I'd rather wash the dishes anytime.
When I was in college, my fiance said I should take up HRM to learn how to cook so that I can do that when we got married. I can't cook, my professor confirmed it. I didn't marry him.
So, today, I made my first baked macaroni. I called Lizelle and Ruth for instructions on how to use an oven, how to load the pan, how long it should stay there, etc. I burned the first pan. Yes, I made several pans just in case something like that happened. I made three pans. The first one was a bit burnt but still ok and the other two turned out just fine. Whoopeee. My family enjoyed it. Or they were simply too scared to say otherwise.
Experiment!
My house still stinks of burning plastic. I think there was a bit of plastic somewhere inside the oven. I dunno. It's the first time it has ever been used. Never mind. If there's plastic in there, it's going to be completely gone sometime in the future. Kayla asked if I can learn how to make brownies or something like that. Wishful thinking.
And Then There Were Three

First day without Pinkay.
The boys seem oblivious to her absence. Cukay seems to be looking for her. She sniffs her boys and kinda walks around as if searching for Pinkay. It could just be my imagination. My friend told me they don't remember.
I remember. I look for her. I have the way she looked back at me when she was leaving embedded in my memory chip. She seemed to say, "Mama, where are these people taking me?" And my heart breaks all over again.
She is with Niko, her new master. He will love and take care of her. But I will never get to hold her. She will never look at me with her sweet face to ask me for a treat.
I have my boys romping at my feet. They will be mine until they are not.
That's it. I'm having Chikoy and Cukay fixed.
