Enjoying Happy Friends

David hosted lunch the other Sunday. A typical English Sunday lunch of roast beef, roast potatoes, cabbage (no to brussels sprouts!), yorkshire pudding and bloody gravy at 3pm.

Belay came to my house last Wednesday. We demolished 2 bottles of Shiraz and BBQ. David joined us long enough for 2 bottles of beer.

Cukay (Yes, I named my dog after her.) and I had dinner last Thursday at Astralis in Rockwell. We shared a salad, risotto and steak.

Emily hosted dinner at her house last Saturday. Yummy home-cooked Bicol Express, Grilled bangus stuffed with tomatoes and onions and fried chicken.

Ruth and Lizelle came for lunch at my house last Sunday. Ruth made a lovely seafood paella, I grilled some steaks and pork ribs and Lizelle brought puto bungbong, bibingka and truffles.

Oh, what fun to enjoy meals and drinks with friends!

They're from different aspects of my life so they do not know each other. Belay was my neighbor and gym buddy from my recent past. Cukay and I were close friends in college and I kinda dated her brother, Miguel. Emily and I grew up together and were playmates as children. Ruth and Lizelle were close friends in high school.

I once received a forwarded email about a man who lived to 100+ years and his 10 Rules to Longevity. The number 2 rule was "SURROUND YOURSELF WITH HAPPY FRIENDS. THE GROUCHY ONES PULL YOU DOWN."I couldn't agree more.
